What “the Scholar of his time” thought about a particular woman: Al-Qasim ibn Muhammad, the grandson of Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with them), was the “Scholar of his time”, of the famed Seven Jurists of Medinah, many considered him as the most knowledgeable of them. Who did he call the “container of knowledge”?
A woman. 🙂 Imam al-Zuhri said, “Al-Qasim said to me, “I see you are avid in seeking [knowledge]. Shouldn’t I show you the container of it?” I said, “Of course!” He said, “Go to ‘Amrah bint Abdurrahman, for she was raised by Aishah.” So I went to her and found her an endless ocean.
