Rabi Ul Awal Day 2

From his sublime Sunnah: the Prophet ﷺ would make everyone feel as if he/she were the most beloved person to him. From the giving of his undivided attention: how he would turn his entire body to the one he was speaking with such that he would speak with his whole person, salla Allahu aliahi wasallam; to his wondrous caring, merciful gaze…the person he spoke to felt respected and heard, cared for and secure.
Some of this is indicated in the hadith of ‘Amr ibn al-‘Aas: After a
military excursion in which the Prophet ﷺ (peace be upon him) had placed him in command, ‘Amr comes and sits in front of the Prophet (peace be upon him). It’s as though the way in which the Prophet peace be upon him is looking at him, ‘Amr is almost compelled to ask: “Who is the most beloved of people to you?” The answer came: “Aishah.”
“From the men!” Amr says, (Still hopeful.)
“Her father.”
“Then who?” (Perhaps he was number two?)
“Umar.” The Prophet peace be upon him then mentioned a
number of other people and ‘Amr said: so I went silent out of fear I would be the last of them…
I imagine how Amr was overwhelmed with love and feeling loved from the gaze and attention of the Prophet peace be upon him that he felt he must have been the most beloved of people to him! And this given the fact he was a recent convert and of course Abu Bakr and Umar and the foremost of the Sahabah were there…but it was just that gaze…❤️
May Allah ta’ala grant us all that gaze!
