Arabic & Tafsir Summer Circle

Start Date: Monday, July 6th (4 Week Course)

10:30AM – 12:30PM EST / 3:30 – 5:30PM London

• Open to women and girls ages 12 and up
• Classes will meet 3 times a week on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday for 4 weeks
• Attendees may join online or in person for those who are in the Albany area

Summer program for kids and women!

Don’t let your/their summer be spent without some productivity!

-This program is intended to be all-inclusive Arabic, ie, they will have “homework” that we will do together in class so you don’t have to worry about following up with them after they’re done – they will be yours to have fun with after class. (Though I can’t promise there will be absolutely no homework ever!) There will be an Arabic test to move on to the next level inshaAllah.

I also try to include hadith/ayaat into the Arabic.

The intent is to keep advancing in Arabic until we can read Nur ul-Idah (basic Hanafi fiqh text) and 40 Hadith. So classes will either continue in summer (depending on plans) or continue once the school year starts again (during the school year the schedule will be after school times and 2x a week, 45 min-1 hour classes).

-For the tafsir: We will cover the 30th juz as much as we can, starting from the last ten surahs, and then going back to the beginning. The goal is to give an appreciation of the language of the Quran and its order* and of course the meaning.

(*You may remember I love Suyuti’s book on the Secrets of the Order of the Surahs 🙂 )

InshaAllah it will be a unique tafsir catered to youth and accessible for adults as well.

Those in person in the Albany area are welcome to come to my house and attend live.

Note to all: I am doing this class for my kids and I want the benefit to extend to others; my sons will be in attendance: 13 years and 11 years.
