Rabi al Awwal Post #4
From his sublime Sunnah, as Sayyiduna Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, described him for his son Husayn:”…he would recognize the good and reinforce it.”
He would see the good and light in every situation, no matter how bleak it may be.
An example of this:
During the lifetime of the Prophet ﷺ , there was a man called `Abdullah, whose nickname was Donkey, and he used to make Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) laugh. The Prophet (ﷺ) lashed him because of drinking (alcohol). And one-day he was brought to the Prophet (ﷺ) on the same charge and was lashed. On that, a man among the people said, “O Allah, curse him ! How often he is brought (to the Prophet (ﷺ) on such a charge)!” The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Do not curse him, for by Allah, I know he loves Allah and His Apostle.”
Even in these circumstances, where it is very easy and perhaps natural to be critical, the Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wasallam found good; he found a trait to praise.
May Allah give us tawfeeq to find the good in all our matters!
