Ramdan A Month to Cultivate Taqwah

Ramadan is the month that Allah wants us to cultivate taqwa: God-fearingness. To have taqwa is to ward off the anger/wrath of Allah by keeping away from that which He has prohibited.
This is what those of taqwa win unto:
15 merits of taqwa from the Quran:
1. Guidance “…guidance for those with taqwa” (Baqarah:2)
2. Allah is with the people of taqwa “Indeed Allah is with those who had taqwa” (Nahl:128)
3. Protection and friendship of Allah: “Allah is the Wali (Protecting Friend) of those with taqwa” (Jaathiyah:19)
4. Love of Allah “Indeed Allah loves those who have taqwa” (Tawbah:4)
5. Criterion between good and evil “If you have taqwa Allah will make a criterion for you” (Anfaal:29)
6, 7. “Whosoever has taqwa of Allah, He will make for him a way out and provide him from where he did not expect” (Talaq:2,3)
8. “And whosoever has taqes of Allah, He will make for him his matter easy.” (Talaq:4)
9, 10. “And who seoever has taqwa of Allah, He will expiate his bad deeds from him and will make his reward great.” (Talaq:5)
11. “Indeed Allah only accepts from those who have taqwa” (Ma-idah:27)
12. “And have taqwa of Allah so that you may be successful”
13. “Those who believed and had taqwa they have glad tidings in this wordly life and in the akhirah.” (Yunus: 24)
14. “indeed those who have taqwa have with their Lord gardens of bliss.”
15. “then we will save those who have taqwa.” (Maryam:72)
What amazing benefits for our life here and the hereafter! The Prophet ﷺ taught us this beautiful dua to ask for taqwa:
اللَّهُمَّ آتِ نَفْسِي تَقْوَاهَا وَزَكِّهَا أَنْتَ خَيْرُ مَنْ زَكَّاهَا أَنْتَ وَلِيُّهَا وَمَوْلَاهَا
“O Allah! Give my self taqwa and purify it, You are the Best of those who purify it; You are its Wali (Protecting Friend) and its Mawla (Guardian).”
May Allah give us tawfeeq (success from Himself) to attain unto taqwa in this month and keep increasing us in it!
