Today I want to reflect on how the Prophet’s ﷺ character was so sublime that the closest people to him, namely his wives, testified to it. If we truly reflect on that we see that it is enough as a testification to his Prophethood, to his greatness ﷺ because everybody knows that the most difficult people to be good to is your family because they’re always around you! They see your good and the bad and the ugly. It’s easy to have good character with somebody you meet for a few minutes, or even for an hour or two hours, but to have that consistent character with your family even when you’re irritable, or when you’re hungry/hangry or haven’t slept or are sick…that’s true good character. And this is not just hard…perhaps even impossible to be that consistent.
The Prophet ﷺ said, the best of you are the best to their families (their wives).
The Prophet ﷺ had 9 wives at one time and in total he had 11 wives, and all of them loved him ﷺ
all of them testified to his good characterﷺ.
This is enough to show his perfection ﷺ.
Sayyida Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said, every matter of his was ajeeb (amazing/wondrous). He ﷺ
was just wondrous!
